Bad Boys 4 Moving Forward With Will Smith, Martin Lawrence
The Bad Boys are back in action, with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence set to reunite for a fourth film. THR reports that Sony Pictures has put Bad Boys 4 in preproduction, with Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah back to direct and both Smith and Lawrence returning to star.
The most recent film in the franchise was one of the last hit films to release before the pandemic began, grossing $426.5 million worldwide against a $90 million budget when it released in January of 2020. The fourth film was fast-tracked but had to be put on hold, first due to the pandemic and then after Smith’s now-infamous slap of Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. Several Smith projects were paused after that controversy. Smith addressed the situation while doing press for Emancipation, which released in theaters and on Apple TV+ in December.
Plot details are being kept under wraps at this time.
