The directors for Bad Boys For Life say that they’re interested in taking on Beverly Hills Cop 4, addressing rumors that they’re attached to it. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah spoke with Collider and discussed the reports that they may direct the long-gestating sequel to the Eddie Murphy trilogy, confirming only that they’d be interested.

Fallah said, “I think Jerry [Bruckheimer] asked us to be available…We ready, we ready.”

El Arbi added that it’s a bit early to tell, as Bad Boys For Life just released and its’ success could be contingent on whether they get the job. He said, “Because it is our first Hollywood movie, we gotta wait until it comes out to know what the reaction is. And I think that Jerry’s waiting just for that, God willing, it becomes a success, and then he has momentum, and then it’s jump right at it. And we met Eddie Murphy twice and he seems to like us.”

If this past weekend is any indication, they’re in the clear. Bad Boys For Life opened big and even surpassed the Sunday estimates with a total of $73 million over the four-day weekend, with $111 million worldwide to date. It also has the best reviews for the franchise with ease at a 76% Rotten Tomatoes aggregate score.
