Ben Affleck Returning As Batman For Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Ben Affleck isn’t done with Batman quite yet, as he’ll be returning to the role for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Jason Momoa revealed via Instagram on Thursday that Affleck is joining him in the Aquman sequel, sharing pics of the two stars together after they were spotted filming by a Warner Bros. bus tour.
Momoa wrote:
“REUNITED bruce and arthur. love u and miss u Ben WB studio tours just explored the backlot alright. busted on set all great things coming AQUAMAN 2 all my aloha j”
Affleck has played the role of the Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League, and retired from the cowl afterward due to the personal issues that the role exacerbated at the time. He has since returned through filming The Flash, which releases in June of next year and will also have Michael Keaton reprising his version of Batman.
It’s not yet clear how big Affleck’s role in The Lost Kingdom will be, though at this stage in the process a cameo appears more likely. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is directed by James Wan and is set to release on March 17th, 2023.
