Chad Stahelski Gives Update on John Wick 4 Production Schedule

John Wick 4 is currently in the works, and director Chad Stahelski gave an update on when we might see the film. Stahelski spoke with Collider for a new interview and suggested that the current May 21st, 2021 release date may not hold.

Stahelski noted that Keanu Reeves is going to be busy with The Matrix 4 when productions are able to begin again. With that film having been delayed, Stahelski said that he wasn’t sure when his film may release.

“Between how much we want to expand the John Wick — let’s just call it a ‘franchise’, I guess — and the pandemic, I couldn’t tell you a release date for the next one,” Stahelski said. “I mean, Matrix was only four weeks in when this all happened. So, Keanu’s gotta go finish his commitment up on The Matrix, which is a big deal and which I think will probably take him until the end of the year. Then we have to go into our prep mode and the we’ll start. So release dates, I’m sure with every production from Dave’s stuff to our stuff, who knows right now.”

The Matrix 4 and John Wick 4 were set for the same release date, but that (sadly) seems increasingly unlikely at this point.
