Charlize Theron-Focused Fast & Furious Spinoff In the Works

Charlize Theron’s Fast & Furious character of Cipher is the subject of a new spinoff that is currently in the works. Vin Diesel told Variety that he currently has writers working on such a spinoff focused on Cipher, who made her debut in The Fate of the Furious and then reprised the role in the just-released F9: The Fast Saga.

It’s important to note that the Diesel just said he had writers working on the script, and said nothing about whether Universal Studios or the like have greenlit the film. Should the film come to pass though, it would be the second spinoff film following Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw which was a hit upon its 2019 release.

F9: The Fast Saga is also shaping up to be quite the hit with $88.2 million domestically thus far and $423.7 million worldwide.
