DC, Warner Bros. Developing Plastic Man Film
Warner Bros. and DC Films are developing a film based on comics superhero Plastic Man. THR reports that Amanda Idoko has been tapped to write the script for the film, which is being billed as a comedic action-adventure. Bob Shaye will executive produce.
Plastic Man began his tenure as a Quality Comics character, having been created by Jack Cole in 1941. He was brought into DC continuity when the company bought Quality in 1956. Real name Patrick “Eel” O’Brian, Plastic Man was part of a gang who was doused with a chemical liquid during a heist. The chemicals gave him the power to shape-shift in a variety of ways, earning him the name of the most malleable man alive. He would eventually become a hero and even a police officer, and was a member of the Justice League.
The film will reportedly “stay true to the light-hearted and even silly tones of the character” according to the site.
