Eva Marie, Vladimir Kozlov to Co-Star In New Action-Thriller

WWE alumni Eva Marie and Vladimir Kozlov are set to co-star in a new action thriller. Deadline reports that Marie will star in Phoenix, an action-thriller that stars Randy Couture, Neal McDonough, Bai Lin, Rashad Evans and Oleg Prudius – the latter of whom is best known as Vladimir Kozlov from his WWE days.

According to the site, Marie will star as Fiona “Phoenix” Grant. Grant is a U.S. Army veteran sergeant teaching hand-to-hand combat skills in Afghanistan when she gets word that her father Everett (played by Couture) has been killed in Florida. She doesn’t buy the police report that it was suicide and takes a leave of absence to investigate.

She learns that the prime suspect is local drug kingpin Maxim Vasiliiev (Prudius), who has an army of mercenaries and plenty of protection through legal and political influence. Phoenix arms herself with a plan to take Vasiliiev out.

The film is written by Daniel Zirilli, who is also directing. It is currently in production in Miami.
