Ewan McGregor is all in on his return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming Disney+ series, saying he’s happy to return to the role again if Lucasfilm calls. McGregor, who is reprising his Star Wars prequels role in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi, spoke with Total Film (per Games Radar and said he’s open to playing the role of the iconic Jedi beyond the series.

“If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that,” Mcgregor told the site. “Here I go again, it’s like me knocking at Disney’s door again!”

He also talked about returning to the role, saying, “It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness [in Star Wars). I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is.”

The series stars McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. It premieres on May 29th and is described as follows:

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
