James Wan Returns to Horror In First Malignant Trailer, Poster

James Wan is returning to horror with Malignant in September, and the film’s first poster and trailer are online. Warner Bros. released the art and preview for the film, which hits theaters and HBO Max on September 11th, on Tuesday and you can check them out below.

The trailer focuses on Madison (Annabelle Wallis), who is traumatized by visions of murders taking place that she’s seeing that turn out to be really happening. Realizing that the killer is connected to her past, she investigates and realizes the the killer is the imaginary friend she had as a child.

The film is written by Akela Cooper from a story by Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Cooper. Directed by Wan, it stars Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jacqueline McKenzie, Jake Abel, and Bisu and is described as follows:

“Madison is paralyzed by shocking visions of grisly murders, and her torment worsens as she discovers that these waking dreams are in fact terrifying realities.”
