Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion To Feature Will Smith/Janet Huber Conversation
HBO Max has done the unlikely with their Fresh Prince of Bel-Air special: get Will Smith and Janet Huber talking. WarnerMedia announced on Thursday that the previously-announced reunion special taped today and with Smith releasing two first-look photos. One of them was a reveal that he sat down yesterday with Huber, who originated the role of Aunt Vivian, for the first time in 27 years for what was called “an emotional reunion and a candid conversation.” Hubert famously has claimed that Smith had her fired from the show and that he had her blackballed from getting work in the years since, which he has denied.
The taping today featured Smith joined by series regulars Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Alfonso Ribeiro as well as recurring co-star DJ Jazzy Jeff on the set of the Banks’ home. The special as described as “the special will be a funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and more special surprise guests, in honor of the series that ran for six seasons and 148 episodes.” You can see the pics below as released by Smith.
The reunion special will air on HBO Max around Thanksgiving.
