Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are set to begin filming the next Halloween film this fall, according to a new report. Collider reports that according to multiple sources, the sequel to 2018’s Halloween revival will begin shooting after Labor Day with an October 16, 2020 release date scheduled.

The site adds that David Gordon Green wrote the script for the sequel and is expected to return as director. Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are all expected to reprise their roles as Laurie Strode and Laurie’s daughter and granddaughter. That said, talent deals have yet to close.

The Halloween revival, which ignored all the sequels and acted as a direct sequel to the original, was a monster hit for Universal and Blumhouse with $255.5 million worldwide against a budget of just $10 million.
