Negan and Maggie are heading to New York City for a newly-greenlit Walking Dead spinoff series. Deadline reports that Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Lauren Cohan, who have played the conflict-wracked duo on the main series, are set to star in spinoff Isle Of The Dead which will air on AMC and AMC+ next year.

The new series will follow Maggie and Negan to a Manhattan that was “long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.”

Eli Jorné, who has been a writer on the main show, will serve as a showrunner for the new series. Cohan and Morgan have worked together not only on Walking Dead but in the DCEU where they played Thomas and Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The series is the fifth spinoff for the franchise and comes as the flagship show is in the middle of its 11th and final season.
