Mark Wahlberg Joins Uncharted Movie as Sully

Mark Wahlberg is back on the Uncharted train, joining Tom Holland in the video game adaptation. Variety reports that Wahlberg, who was originally set to play Nathan Drake when David O. Russell was set to direct the film back in 2010, will play Victor “Sully” Sullivan in the Travis Knight-directed film. He joins Holland, who is playing a younger take on Nathan Drake, in the movie.

Sully has appeared in each of the games and is a mentor and father figure to Nathan, having picked him up as a wandering orphan in Colombia. He is described for the film as “an American treasure hunter, fortune seeker and businessman, as well as a friend, mentor and father figure to Drake.”

Production on the film will begin next year from a script written by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum & Matt Holloway.
