Michael Bay Eyed to Direct Lobo

February 8, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Michael Bay could be jumping into DC Comics with one of the company’s most popular antiheroes. Bay is being eyed to direct Lobo, according to The Wrap. Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment met with Bay recently about the film according to the site. They have some notes on the script, which will be incorporated into a new script from Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) that will be presented to Bay in order to help strike a deal.

The studio is said to be aiming to make Lobo their own film in the style of Deadpool. Lobo has the same anti-hero and one-liner style as Deadpool, with both developing their followings in the 1990s. With Deadpool being a huge hit for 20th Century Fox, DC would like to capitalize on that.

No deal is in place yet for Bay to direct the film, which does not yet have a scheduled release date. There’s no word on whether the film would be part of the DCEU or a standalone entry.
