CNN reports that Morgan Freeman has issued another statement regarding accusations of sexual misconduct by eight women. Freeman seems to be worried that his entire career will be negated due to the accusations.

He said: “I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye, by Thursday’s media reports. All victims of assault and harassment deserve to be heard. And we need to listen to them. But it is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor. I admit that I am someone who feels a need to try to make women—and men—feel appreciated and at ease around me. As part of that, I would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what I thought was a light-hearted and humorous way. Clearly I was not always coming across the way I intended. And that is why I apologized Thursday and will continue to apologize to anyone I might have upset, however unintentionally. But I also want to be clear: I did not create unsafe work environments. I did not assault women. I did not offer employment or advancement in exchange for sex. Any suggestion that I did so is completely false.

Sixteen people all spoke about the actor with eight claiming harassment and inappropriate behavior. Eight said that they witnessed the actions on set, promoting his films and at his production company Revelations Entertainment. Four people who worked in production said that Freeman would routinely make women feel uncomfortable.

When the story first broke, Freeman said that he’s “not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent.”

As a result of his behavior, Visa suspended the marketing campaign he was in and the Screen Actors Guild is considering taking back its lifetime achievement award that he got in January.

Meanwhile one of the women in CNN’s report, Tyra Martin, claimed she’s getting backlash from people who think she made the accusations. She told TMZ: “Hey, still getting a lot of nasty messages from people who think I AM one of the accusers. I’m not, never was. CNN totally misrepresented the video and took my remarks out of context.

The incident in question involved an interview the two had, where she said: “When I stood up, I pulled my skirt part of my dress down and he did say, ‘Oh, don’t pull it down now.’
