Netflix Announces Cast For Japanese Wrestling Biopic Series The Queen of Villains

Netflix has announced casting for their series The Queen of Villains about Japanese women’s wrestling legend Dump Matsumoto. The streaming service announced on Tuesday that Yuriyan Retriever will play Matsumoto in the series while Karata Erika will play Nagayo Chigusa and Ayame Goriki will play Lioness Asuka.
The series is described as follows:
The Queen of Villains tells the unknown story of Dump Matsumoto, a professional wrestler who spurred the women’s professional wrestling boom with her cult-like popularity and took Japan by storm in the 1980s. Nagayo Chigusa and Lioness Asuka are the members of Crush Gals, a Japanese pro-wrestling tag-team duo who became the pop icon by dominating the television bringing the social phenomenon.
The series is written and produced by Osamu Suzuki, with Kazuya Shiraishi directing. It will arrive on Netflix in 2024.
