New Jurassic World Film Gets Title, First Images

The new Jurassic World film has an official title, and the first stills for the film are online. Universal Pictures announced on Thursday that the new film in the blockbuster dino franchise is titled Jurassic World Rebirth and will arrive on July 2nd, 2025.
The new film stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali and comes from director Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), working from a script by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp. Deadline reports that the film is described as follows:
Jurassic World Rebirth sees an intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air. Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.
Johansson will play Zora Bennett, “a skilled covert operations expert contracted to lead a team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs.” The description goes on to note that “When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”
Bailey will play paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis and Ali as Zora’s team leader, Duncan Kincaid. Also starring are Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs, a pharmaceuticals industry representative , and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, the father of the civilian family.
The last film in the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion, released in June of 2022 and grossed just over $1 billion worldwide.
