Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin Trailer Teases Culty Threats & More
The new trailer and poster are online for Paramount+’s Paranormal Activity: Next Of Kin, and they tease a story of blood connections and a new demon to fear. Paramount+ released the trailer and key art today for the new installment in the hit horror franchise, which will arrive on the service in the US on October 29th.
The trailer teases a film that has the traditional found footage format that the franchise is known for, brought into a folk horror setting. It is not clear if or how this film will connect to the previous entries, as it follows Margot (Emily Bader) who heads to secluded Amish community, in the hopes of meeting and learning about her long-lost mother and extended family. Margot refers to her mother as “Sarah,” which is not a name we’ve heard in the franchise before.
Creepy cult occurrences start to pop up, including a church which appears dedicated to Asmodeus, a major demon in Jewish lore. Asmodeus was said to be in love with Sarah, the daughter of Raquel, and slays seven successive husbands on their wedding nights. Whether that will factor into the film isn’t clear.
The movie stars Bader, Roland Buck III, Dan Lippert and Henry Ayers-Brown and is written by Christopher Landon (Freaky, Happy Death Day and the first four Paranormal Activity films). It is directed by William Eubank.
