Ridley Scott Gives Update on Alien Series, Says Blade Runner Show In the Works

Ridley Scott has provided an update on the upcoming Alien series while confirming a Blade Runner series is in the works. The director, who is promoting House of Gucci, spoke with the BBC (per Variety) and talked about the two seriea adaptations of his classic sci-fi films.

Scott told the outlet that “We [have already] written the pilot for ‘Blade Runner’ and the bible. So, we’re already presenting Blade Runner as a TV show, the first 10 hours.”

He also said that Alien, which was announced in December of last year as premiering on FX and coming from Noah Hawley (Legion, Fargo), will also be an eight to ten hour show with a pilot and series bible being written.

FX boss John Landgraf previously said that the Alien series was aiming for a 2023 launch date and will “feel like a part of the cinematic universe you’re familiar with in terms of Alien.”
