Samara Weaving Will Play Scarlett in G.I. Joe Spin-Off Snake-Eyes

Samara Weaving is set to get a boost to her her 1980s pop culture cred, with a role as Scarlett in the G.I. Joe spin-off Snake-Eyes. THR reports that Weaving (Ready or Not, Bill & Ted Face the Music) will play the fan-favorite Joe in the upcoming spin-off, joining Henry Golding in the title role, Andre Koji as Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais as Hard Master, and Úrsula Corberó as the Baroness/

The film will follow Snake-Eyes (Golding) as he seeks revenge for his father by joining a ninja clan and finding acceptance in the process. Robert Schwentke (RED) will direct from a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos (Beauty in the Beast).

Production begins this week in Vancouver, with plans to shoot in Japan as well.
