Shawnee Smith Reportedly Circling Return For Saw X

Shawnee Smith could be heading back to the world of Jigsaw, with the actress reportedly circling a role in the tenth Saw film. Deadline reports that Smith, who played Amanda Young in the first three Saw films as well as Saw VI, is in talks to return to the franchise. While it is not confirmed, it is expected that she would return as Amanda, possibly via flashbacks.

Amanda was one of Jigsaw’s first victims and eventually became a disciple of his. She was killed off at the end of Saw III and appeared in archival form in the next two films, before returning for a flashback in Saw VI.

If Smith returns, she will join Tobin Bell who is reprising his role as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw. Also cast in the film are Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, and Michael Beach. Details on the plot are being kept quiet. Kevin Greuter, who directed the sixth and seventh entries and edited the first five as well as Jigsaw, is back to direct.
