Shea Whigham Joins Cast of Mission: Impossible Sequels

The cast of the two new Mission: Impossible sequels is growing. In a post on his Twitter account, writer-director Christopher McQuarrie confirmed the casting of Shea Whigham (Kong: Skull Island, Death Note) for the upcoming sequels. You can check out the announcement below.

As previously reported, Hayley Atwell, who starred in Agent Carter alongside Whigham, was also confirmed for the cast for the upcoming sequels. Whigham joins the returning cast members Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. Christopher McQuarrie is set to write and direct the next two films.

Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 are set for release on July 23, 2021 and August 5, 2022.
