Smallville Actress Pleads Guilty In Sex Cult Case
TMZ reports that former Smallville star Allison Mack entered a guilty plea to racketeering charges today in a federal courtroom in Brooklyn. Prosecutors maintain that Mack was essentially a pimp for a sex cult. She faces up to 40 years in prison.
Her guilty plea seems to be part of a deal with prosecutors, as she originally had pled not guilty when she was indicted on sex trafficking charges stemming from allegations that she ran a sex cult for NXIVM leader Keith Raniere by recruiting women to the cult.
She said in court: “I must take full responsibility for my conduct. I am very sorry for my role in this case. I am very sorry to my family and to the good people I hurt through my misguided adherence to [NXIVM leader] Keith Raniere’s teachings.”
Both Raniere and Mack were arrested in Mexico where they were hiding out last year.
