Taika Waititi To Direct and Co-Write New Star Wars Feature Film

May the 4th be with you. The official Star Wars website announced that Taika Waititi has agreed to a deal that will see him direct and co-write a feature film set in the galaxy far, far away. Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917, Last Night in Soho) will also write the script.

Taika Waititi has some experience in the world of Star Wars, as he previously directed the first season finale for The Mandalorian on Disney+. The release date for his film has not yet been announced. He’s also directing Thor: Love and Thunder for Marvel, which was previously set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021. However, that date could possibly change due to the coronavirus pandemic.
