Taron Egerton Says He’s Not Returning For Next Kingsman Film

Taron Egerton won’t be reprising his role as Eggsy in the next Kingsman movie. Egerton spoke with Yahoo! Movies promoting Robin Hood and said, “I don’t know how hot off the press this is, and I think I’m allowed to say it, but I’m not in the next Kingsman movie.”

Egerton added that this may not be the end of the character, noting, “That doesn’t mean I won’t be in Kingsman ever again. I was with Matthew [Vaughn] as little as a few days ago, we’re still very much in business together, but his next journey in that world doesn’t involve me.”

The revelation comes after a report last month that the next film will be Kingsman: The Great Game, which will be set during World War I and will focus on some of the most important people and events of the early 20th century. With that in mind, it makes plenty of sense that Egerton would not be back. The new film will release on November 9th, 2019.
