Taron Egerton, Scarlett Johansson Sought For Little Shop of Horrors Remake

Warner Bros.’ planned Little Shop of Horrors remake as potential leads in Taron Egerton and Scarlett Johansson. Fill Circle Cinema reports that Egerton, who won a Golden Globe this month for his role in Rocketman, is in talks for what is believed to be the role of Seymour in the planned film. Egerton played the role in a regional production of the musical in Wales in 2007.

Meanwhile, Collider’s Jeff Sneider reports that the role of Audrey has been offered to Scarlett Johansson and that Billy Porter is being eyed to voice Audrey II.

The property began as a Roger Corman horror comedy in 1960 but is best known as the 1982 stage musical and 1986 directed by Frank Oz and starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, Steve Martin, James Belushi, John Candy, Christopher Guest, and Bill Murray.
