Netflix revealed the first image of Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer from the Neil Gaiman live-action adaptation of The Sandman at DC FanDome on Saturday. Check out the images below.

The series is set to star Tom Sturridge as Dream, the Lord of the Dreaming, and Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Ruller of Hell. The cast also includes Vivienne Acheampong (Lucienne, the chief librarian), Boyd Holbrook (The Corinthian), Charles Dance (Roderick Burgess, a Charlatan, blackmailer, and magician), Asim Chaudhry (Abel), and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Cain).

The synopsis from Netflix is below.

“A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.”

Netflix landed the series back in 2019 as part of a huge deal to bring the 11 episodes to the streamer. The show, at the time, was the most expensive series DC had done.
