The Witcher Showrunner Says Henry Cavill Will Get ‘Heroic Sendoff’ In Season Three
Henry Cavill’s next season of The Witcher is his last, and the Netflix series’ showrunner promises an appropriate farewell to the actor. As reported in October, Cavill is exiting the series after the upcoming season, with Liam Hemsworth replacing him when the fourth season. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich spoke with EW and promised a “heroic sendoff” for the actor.
“Geralt’s big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri [Freya Allan]. And to me, it’s the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that,” Hissrich told the site. “Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement.”
The Witcher premieres its third season on Netflix in summer of 2023.
