Titans Casts Tim Drake For Season Three

Titans will be bringing its third Robin on board in season three, casting the role of Tim Drake in the show. The show’s official Twitter account has announced that Jay Lycurgo (I May Destroy You) will play Tim Drake, who is the third person in the comics to take on the mantle of Robin.

Lycurgo, as it happens, will also play a role in the upcoming The Batman film starring Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. There is no indication that he is playing the same role in both projects.

The series’ logline for Tim describes him as, similar to the comics, “a streetwise kid who’s managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism. Tim’s easy-going demeanor is backed up by a near-genius mind — a natural detective with a perception of detail far beyond his years.”

Lycurgo will recur in the role in season three, which will see the previous Robin in Jason Todd (Curran Walters) become the Red Hood. He joins a cast that includes Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson/Nightwing, Teagan Croft as Raven, Anna Diop as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson & Minka Kelly as Hawk and Dove, Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent/Superboy, Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne, and Savannah Welch as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

Season three of the show is expected to premiere later this year. The first two seasons are now available to stream on the HBO Max.
