Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula

Train to Busan is one of the most intense zombie films to come out in the last several years, and if the teaser is accurate then its sequel will take the craziness to eleven. Well Go USA have released the first teaser for Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, the next film set in the universe launched by Train to Busan in 2016.

As you can see from the trailer below, the movie is set four years after the events in Busan and sees a world that has fallen apart since the zombie virus outbreak. Yeon Sang-ho is back to direct the film, which will star Lee Jung-hyun and Gang Dong-won. The movie, which does not yet have a release date, is described as follows:

Four years after South Korea’s total decimation in Train to Busan, Yeon Sang-ho brings us Peninsula, the next chapter in his post-apocalyptic world. Jung-seok, a soldier who previously escaped the diseased wasteland, relives the horror when assigned to a covert operation with two simple objectives: retrieve and survive. When his team unexpectedly stumbles upon survivors, their lives will depend on whether the best—or worst—of human nature prevails in the direst of circumstances.
