Paramount Pictures dropped the newest trailer today for Transformers One, the upcoming new CG-animated Transformers film. The new CG feature showcases the origin story of Orion Pax (aka Optimus Prime) and D-16 (aka Megatron) of the Transformers Universe. You can check out the newly revealed trailer and poster below.

The new film showcases the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron before they became sworn enemies and leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons. Set on planet Cybertron, Optimus Prime and Megatron used to go by the names of Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16 (Brian Tyree Henry).

Before the two became bitter enemies in a brutal civil war, they worked as lowly bot workers as Cybertron, who lacked the ability to transform. However, they soon make a discovery that could alter life on Cybertron as they know it. Before they came the most hated of enemies, Pax and D-16 were friends who were as close as brothers.

The film also features the voice talents of Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm. It’s directed by Josh Cooley from a script by Eric Pearson, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari, with a story by Barrer and Ferrari. Of course, it’s also based on Hasbro’s iconic line of action figures. Transformers One will be hitting theaters on September 20.
