Venom Sequel Moving Forward, Woody Harrelson to Return as Carnage
January 7, 2019 | Posted by
Sony is moving ahead with its Venom sequel, as was expected considering the film’s box office success. Variety reports that Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote the original film, has been brought back to write the script in what was called a “significant” deal. Marcel will also executive produce the film.
Tom Hardy is set to return as the titular character (and his host Eddie Brock), with Michelle Williams reprising her role as well as Woody Harrelson. Harrelson only appeared in the post-credits teaser, where he played Cletus Kasidy, the man who becomes Carnage. A director has not yet been set, though a new person may be sought as Ruben Fleischer will be busy directing Zombieland 2 (also starring Harrelson).
Sony did not comment on the story.
