Apple TV+’s Godzilla and the Titans series has added a new director in WandaVision’s Matt Shankman. Variety reports that Shankman, who was nominated for an Emmy for directing the MCU Disney+ series, will direct two episodes and serve as an executive producer on the forthcoming untitled series set in Legendady’s MonsterVerse.
As previously reported back in January, the planned series is co-created by Chris Black (Star Trek Enterprise) and comics writer Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Sex Criminals) who are executive producing the series with Black serving as showrunner. The series is described as follows:
Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the untitled series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.
In addition to WandaVision, Shankman has directed episodes of Game of Thrones, Succession, The Boys, a ton of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and much more. There’s no word on when the Godzilla and the Titans series might begin production yet.
