Kendrick Lamar Announced For Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show
Kendrick Lamar will headline the halftime show for Super Bowl LIX. It was announced on Sunday (per Deadline) that the Grammy-winning rap star will headline the halftime show for the the 2025 NFL championship game, which is scheduled to take place on February 9th, 2025.
Lamar posted a video to his Instagram account referencing the announcement, writing in the caption:
“Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans. February 2025. #AppleMusicHalftime”
The rapper said in a statement, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”
Jay Z added in his own statement, “Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Lamar performed at 2022’s Super Bowl LVI halftime show, joining Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
