  • And now on to this year’s card…

    The Card

  • The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Brian Kendrick and Homicide
  • All Titles on the Line: The Beautiful People © vs. Angelina Love © and Tara
  • Team 3D vs. Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac
  • X-Division Championship: Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore vs. Douglas Williams ©
  • Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young
  • Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson
  • Team Hogan vs. Team Flair
  • World Championship: “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero vs. “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles ©
  • The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Brian Kendrick and Homicide

My Prediction: This match was added in the last day or two. It might be because the Machine Guns were supposed to get the title shot on the PPV but it was pushed off for Hall and Waltman. Kendrick has not set TNA on fire since arriving and Homicide has been invisible. Therefore, I am going with The Machine Guns.

Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm

My Prediction: This was added on the last Impact to decide which team gets the advantage in the match. It is always important in these matches for the bad guys to always have the advantage so the faces have to fight back from behind, so I am going with James Storm.

All Titles on the Line: The Beautiful People © vs. Angelina Love © and Tara

Destination X – Tara beat Daffney in a Knockout’s Championship Match. After the match, Tara realized Daffney stole Poison.
3.22.10 – The Beautiful People and Daffney beat Tara, Taylor Wilde, Sarita and Angelina Love. Daffney still had Poison.
3.29.10 – Tara killed Daffney in a first blood Knockout’s title match.
4.5.10 – An eight knockout match occurred with four keys to be won by whoever got the pins. Tara, Daffney, Velvet Sky and Angelina Love won the keys. Velvet Sky won any match she wants. Tara won her spider back. Angelina Love won the Knockouts title. Daffney had to do a striptease.
4.12.10 – Velvet Sky cashed in her “any match” stip from last week and got Angelina Love in a match where Love was handcuffed in a no DQ, I Quit match. The match ended when Tara ran in for the save.

My Prediction: The entire month, The Beautiful People have kicked the living crap out of Angelina Love. She won the Knockouts belt in a ridiculous manner (what would she have done if she won the spider?) but The Beautiful People have dominated the entire period. Now, Tara has been on a role, beating up Daffney at every turn but then losing the Knockouts title in a ridiculous manner (what’s more important, the spider or the title?). With all the crap that has happened this last month (killing the Knockouts credibility in the process), I have to go with Angelina Love and Tara, winning the tag team titles and becoming partners who hate each other as Tara still wants her title back.

Team 3D vs. Scott Hall and Sean Waltman

Destination X – Scott Hall and Sean Waltman beat Kevin Nash and Eric Young when Kevin Nash turned on his partner. This meant Hall and Waltman earned TNA contracts.
3.22.10 – Kevin Nash called out Eric Young to apologize. “It’s just business.” He asked if Young wanted to join The Band but Young attacked everyone. Jeff Hardy and RVD saved him.
3.29.10 – RVD, Jeff Hardy and Eric Young beat The Band when Eric Young came off the top of the cage with an elbow drop to pin Sean Waltman.
4.5.10 – Team 3D beat The Motor City Machineguns in a number one contender match when The Band interfered. The Band took out both teams after the match and then cut a promo in the ring.
4.12.10 – The Band beat Team 3D and Jesse Neal when Bubba the Love Sponge came out and distracted Bubba Ray. Eric Young saved Team 3D from a beat down, wielding a hockey stick and challenged Nash to a match at Lockdown.

My Prediction: First, I have a huge complaint. A couple of months back, I was pissed because the Tag Team Championship match was pushed off the show for Team 3D vs. The Nasty Boys. Now the Tag Team Championship match is pushed off (it was on Impact when Matt Morgan and Red beat The Machine Guns) for Team 3D vs. The Band. That is just really, really poor matchmaking in my eyes because it devalues the title belts. With that said, The Band is going to win this match.

X-Division Championship: Kazarian vs. Shannon Moore vs. Douglas Williams ©

Destination X – Kazarian beat Chris Daniels, Amazing Red and Brian Kendrick to become the number one contender to the X-Division Championship. Doug Williams beat Shannon Moore to successfully defend his X-Division Championship.
3.22.10 – Shannon Moore and Kazarian beat Douglas Williams and Brian Kendrick when Moore pinned Kendrick.
4.5.10 – Douglas Williams beat Generation Me in a handicap match. Shannon Moore attacked after the match and demanded a title shot.
4.12.10 – Shannon Moore and Kazarian fought to a time limit draw.

My Prediction: My first question is why is Shannon Moore getting a title shot when (a) he lost at the last PPV and (b) Kazarian won the number one contenders spot. Kaz should get a one-on-one shot for his win, period. With that said, I see Williams retaining and maybe Kaz and Moore feuding after this. By the way, letting Chris Daniels go was stupid. The guy has put on some of the best matches on TNA PPVs every time out.

    Kevin Nash vs. Eric Young

4.12.10 – The Band beat Team 3D and Jesse Neal when Bubba the Love Sponge came out and distracted Bubba. Eric Young saved Team 3D from a beat down, wielding a hockey stick and challenged Nash to a match at Lockdown.

My Prediction: Hmmm. I am going with The Band in the tag team match, but something tells me they are going to push Eric Young. But, The Band needs to stay strong off the start, so I’m going with Kevin Nash because, honestly, how is Eric Young going to pin the big man?

    Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson

Destination X – Kurt Angle beat Mr. Anderson by submission
3.29.10 – Kurt Angle came out to talk about his feud with Mr. Anderson. Anderson came out next and said nice guys finish last so it’s a good thing he’s an asshole.
4.5.10 – Mr. Anderson beat Kurt Angle in a ladder match to win the key to their cage match at Lockdown.

My Prediction: Strange these two would have so little in-ring action between PPVs. They have solidly built a great feud, despite what Lance Storm would have you believe. Anderson is developing nicely over time as well. I think he was struggling early on with his improvised promos but has gotten better by the week and his “I’m an asshole” promo was spectacular. Their ladder match was great and I can’t wait for this cage match. It’s not as big as the other feuds but is right up there at the top of the ladder going into Lockdown. I’m going with Mr. Anderson here because Kurt won last month.

    Team Hogan vs. Team Flair

Destination X – Matt Morgan and Hernandez beat Beer Money to defend their Tag Team Championship. Morgan turned on Hernandez after the match.
3.22.10 – Hulk Hogan announced this year’s “Lethal Lockdown” will be Team Hogan vs. Team Flair. Hogan and Flair are the managers, not competitors. Abyss is Hogan’s team captain. Styles named Sting as their team captain. Sting and Styles beat down Abyss until The Pope ran in for the save. Jeff Jarrett killed Eric Bischoff with a guitar shot and then beat Mick Foley, meaning Foley was fired from TNA. Beer Money tried to take out Jarrett after the match but Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy ran in for the save. After the match, Beer Money admitted they were tired of being overlooked and are only out to prove they are the greatest tag team in the world, fan support or not. Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam then beat Beer Money in a great match.
3.29.10 – The Pope was talking in the ring when Desmond Wolfe tried to attack. The Pope was too smart for that. In his shot to become the number one contender, Jeff Jarrett lost to A.J. Styles when Eric Bischoff interfered. Jay Lethal beat Beer Money in a handicap match when he stole a quick pin over Robert Roode. Desmond Wolfe beat The Pope when he illegally used a steel chain. Abyss named Jeff Jarrett as the second member of Team Hogan.
4.5.10 – Team Flair added Desmond Wolfe and Beer Money to round out their unit with Sting. Jarrett asked Sting why he turned evil. When Sting refused to answer, Jeff slapped him and Sting dropped him like a bad habit. Then the bad guys started the beat down until RVD and Jeff Hardy ran in for the save. Rob Van Dam beat James Storm but Storm smashed RVD with a beer bottle after the match. The Pope pretty much squashed Desmond Wolfe. After the match, A.J. Styles attacked The Pope. Abyss came in for the save but Wolfe and Styles took him out too.
4.12.10 – Jeff Jarrett attacked Sting to open the show but Sting used his bat for an advantage until Jeff Hardy made the save. Abyss was supposed to team with The Pope but Abyss got hit by a car. Jeff Hardy beat Robert Roode but Storm came in and THREW A MOTHER FRICKIN FIRE BALL~!!!!!!! Hell, yeah! Jay Lethal agreed to be The Pope’s new partner but was beat down by Beer Money. The Pope was going to have to fight a handicap match against Styles and Desmond Wolfe but Wolfe was taken out by a Hogan chair shot. The Pope fought Styles but Flair attacked and then Beer Money ran in for the attack. The bad guys stood tall to end the show.

My Prediction: Team Hogan has looked like crap the entire month. They have rarely come out on top and after the beer bottle smash and fireball, not the mention the car accident, Team Hogan is coming in crippled. If this is typical Hogan booking, they will overcome it all and find a way to persevere and win. If this is booked properly, Team Flair gets the win and Wolfe, Beer Money and Styles are the new Four Horsemen. I want it, so I will pick Team Flair.

World Championship: “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero vs. “The Phenomenal” A.J. Styles ©

Destination X – A.J. Styles retained his World Championship over Abyss by No Contest when the ring collapsed.
3.22.10 – After naming Team Flair’s captain, Sting and Styles beat down Abyss (Hogan’s team captain) until The Pope ran in for the save.
3.29.10 – The Pope was talking in the ring when Desmond Wolfe tried to attack. The Pope was too smart for that. Desmond Wolfe beat The Pope later on the show when he illegally used a steel chain.
4.5.10 – The Pope pretty much squashed Desmond Wolfe. After the match, A.J. Styles attacked The Pope. Abyss came in for the save but Wolfe and Styles took him out too.
4.12.10 – Abyss was supposed to team with The Pope but Abyss got hit by a car.

My Prediction: The Pope is getting over with the crowd but he is being booked strangely, outside of his great promos. Regardless, A.J. Styles ain’t losing the title anytime soon.
