WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley may be dealing with another injury following appearances on WWE’s ongoing European Summer Tour, according to multiple reports from the company’s recent live event in Madrid, Spain.
Reports emerged that Ripley appeared to be wearing “protection” on her right knee during the house show. Per Contralona, observers also reported that she seemed to have difficulty getting down from the ring, fueling speculation about a possible knee issue.
Contralona reported (via Wrestling Inc), “According to reports from #WWEMadrid, @RheaRipley_WWE has appeared with protection on her right knee and has had difficulty getting down from the ring. Let’s hope it’s nothing for the champion of @wwe.”
The reported injury concern comes just days after Ripley successfully retained the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash In Italy. She subsequently appeared at two WWE live events this week before the situation in Madrid drew attention from fans and wrestling media.
During the Madrid show, Charlotte Flair was attacked by members of Fatal Influence. Ripley and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton were shown coming to Flair’s aid during the segment. However, Ripley did not get into any physical action. Instead, she was used as a distraction as Flair and Stratton fought off the group.
As of Thursday night, WWE has not publicly confirmed that Ripley suffered an injury. The company has also not announced her for Friday’s SmackDown episode, which is set to take place in Bologna, Italy.
If the reports prove accurate, the situation would mark the latest setback in a series of injuries Ripley has dealt with in recent years. She previously suffered a broken nose last November. In 2024, she was also sidelined by an AC joint shoulder sprain and a fractured orbital socket and suffered a cut when her dog accidentally bit her before WrestleMania 42.
