411’s TNA Impact Report 6.24.05

June 25, 2005 | Posted by Larry Csonka

Welcome to the all-new IMPACT on the web recap! With TNA having no domestic TV deal (besides the syndicated Xplosion, which will run the same Impact as on the web now,) they are now offering Impact for download off of their website! There are two ways to do this:

For regular download: go here! Now this version is zipped, so make sure you have WinZIP or WinRAR to open this download.

For Bit Torrent: go here! Make sure you have your fancy Torrent stuff, that is too advanced for Larry.

Now, this is an “.flv” file, so you need to download a special player that they have a link for or another player that supports the “.flv” files.

With all of the technical stuff out of the way, let’s get to the show! It is 4:10am as I finish this up, it’s all for you!

Today on Impact:

Michael Shane vs. James Storm

David Young vs. Shark Boy

Samoa Joe vs. Delirious

And in our Main Event: Non-Title Match: “Prime Time” Elix Skipper vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels ©

They start off with a good recap of Slammiversary, which pretty much covers all you could want to know form the evening.

TNA Impact Starts…NOW!

Tenay and West welcome us to IMPACT! We are of course live, via tape delay from Universal Studios. They say Slammiversary was historic and discuss Raven’s title win.

  • Fun opening match there. I am intrigued as to this possible relationship between Traci and Shelley now.

In the back we see FATHER JIM MITCHELL talking to Abyss! Mitchell says Abyss needs a 1 on 1 title shot, that is the only thing that is stopping him. Mitchell can provide that for him. Mitchell can handle all the politics for him, to keep the swine in line. Mitchell says all he needs is one chance to prove himself. Abyss stares him down.

Pre-taped interview with Tenay and the 3LK. BG James is not there though. Tenay says he no showed. Killings says BG gave his word, but Konnan says they don’t know where his head is at. Konnan says he was distracted at Slammiversary, and BG has driven a wedge between them. Outlaw is here! He has all the answers. Monty Brown is here and imitates BG! HAHAHA! He and the Outlaw beat down the 3LK. Outlaw says “BG” has something to say and Monty rips off the whole BG spiel and finishes with, “and screw…the two…live…krew.”

    That was HILARIOUS!

Match #2 David Young vs. Shark Boy

Young attacks at the bell and beats down Sharky. Right hands by Young and he is in control, until Sharky gets to his feet and chops away. Corner whip and a clothesline by Young. Sharky set on the 2nd rope, Young up and Shark bite! Sharky has him…Dead Sea drop stopped roll up by Sharky and that is all!

Winner: Shark Boy @ around 4:00 via pin.

  • Short and non-offensive.

Jeff Jarrett is backstage with Larry Z. He wants a rematch, but Larry says his rematch was the King of the Mountain! BURN! Larry says he is NOT the #1 contender, and Larry says Abyss deserves a shot, as well as the new talent. JJ is pissed!

Match #3 Samoa Joe vs. Delirious

Delirious runs around and then to the floor for a lap. Joe waits on him and Delirious in and a rolling leg sweep by Joe. Chops by Joe and then a running knee strike. Face wash…OLAY, OLAY, OLAY, OLAY KICK! Delirious looks dead. Head butt to Delirious now. Snap mare and chops to the back and then a knee drop to the back on Delirious. Swank version of the abdominal stretch and Delirious is in trouble, and Joe lets go. Joe misses a charge, Delirious charges him…URANAGE OF DEATH! Delirious right onto his head and Joe covers for 2. European uppercuts by Joe, off the ropes and Delirious with a clothesline. Forearm shots and then a kick. Delirious charges, swank power slam by Joe. Delirious to the corner…Joe calls for the buster…SPINNING MUSCLE BUSTER! Joe locks in the rear choke and that is all. Tenay calls it a “Kojita Clutch.”

Winner: Samoa Joe @ around 3:45 via tap out

  • The wrath of Joe continues!

Match #4 Non-Title Match: “Prime Time” Elix Skipper vs. “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels ©

Elix sprints out and awaits Daniels on the ramp. Daniels out and Elix attacks! Elix and Daniels battle down the ramp. Daniels disrobes and in the ring they go and the bell rings. Elix tosses Daniels to the floor again and he still has his belt on, Elix has NO RESPECT FOR DANIELS! Rights by Elix and then rams him to the steel railing. Hip toss to Daniels on the floor now. Into the ring we go and Daniels attacks as Elix crawls in. Off the ropes and a backdrop by Elix. Butterfly suplex by Elix for 2. Knees by Elix and a snap mare followed by a kick to the back of Daniels. Cover by Elix for 2. Daniels in the corner and Elix unloads with right. Daniels reverses him but Elix slams Daniels down. Spin kick by Elix and Daniels tries to get away but Elix kicks away at him. Rights by Elix now and he is on control. Daniels with an eye poke and then forearms to Elix. Off the ropes and a dropkick by Elix gets 2. Daniels in the corner again and Elix with rights and forearms. Daniels is down and rolls to the floor. Elix chases and rams Daniels off of the apron. Again and then to the steel railing. Daniels rolls back in and Elix is still in control. Daniels on the apron, and Daniels stuns him off of the ropes and breaks the momentum. Daniels with boots to Elix’s head, as Tenay announces that Samoa Joe will take on Chris Sabin at No Surrender. Back suplex by Daniels and he covers for 2. Neck vice on Elix and then clubbing shots on Elix. High knee drop by Daniels and he still works the neck. He chokes out Elix with his boot, and then lays Elix on the apron and repeatedly knees him in the head! Daniels back in, feet on the ropes and gets a 2 count. Elix tries to fight back with rights and floats over and rights to Daniels. Off the ropes and Daniels nails him and covers for 2. Daniels chokes Elix over the 2nd rope now, and then the top and pulls back on his neck. He breaks and does it again. Suplex to Elix, floats over and gets a spin kick to Daniels! Both men are down now and the ref counts. Rights by Elix and they exchange shots now. Kick to Daniels now and more forearms. Chops by Elix and off the ropes and a backdrop to Daniels. Clothesline by Elix, and then a back breaker and Daniels nails. Elix grabs him and tosses him back ringside. Daniels bails again and Elix with the CORKSCREW PLANCHA! Back in the ring and Elix with the running STO to Daniels for 2! Daniels whipped to the corner, reversal, Daniels tries the wings, Elix escapes and SWANK TILT A WHILR URANAGE TO DANIELS! 1…2…NO! Foot on the ropes! Elix is pissed and Daniels to the floor. Elix rolls him back in and Daniels begs off. Daniels sidesteps him and Elix into the ropes and catches his neck. Flatliner into the KOJI CLUTCH! Elix taps!

  • Kick ass main event. Daniels is the master of cat and mouse and this was probably better than their cage match from Lockdown.

Winner: “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels @ around 11:00 via tap out

Raven is out now. He has risen form the ashes of a broken youth. His eyes have been opened by violence and his brain has been jumpstarted by blood shed. His life is a case history of broken homes and emotional deprivation and he has endured everything fate has thrown at him. What about me? What about Raven? What about the fact that he has just fulfilled his destiny? He has become TNA’s worst nightmare, he is now the NWA world champion! Jim Mitchell is out! Is he is through with his jibberish, he knows Raven thought he would never see him after Raven left him bloody. He is alive and well and he will see to it that Raven fails. Raven says he always enjoys the inane ramblings of a halfwit, and Mitchell has brought Raven pain, and pleasure. Raven says Mitchell wants a 2nd helping of the Raven effect. He says Mitchell is on the Abyss bandwagon. Mitchell says revenge is a dish best serves cold (old Klingon proverb) and dinner…IS SERVED! Abyss is out! They brawl and Raven fights him off. Off the ropes goes Raven…BLACK HOLE SLAM! Mitchell to the ring and he tells Abyss to grab the chain. He wraps it around Raven’s throat and chokes him out as we fade out…

  • Final Impact Thoughts: I so wish this was on TV, because this was the best wrestling show this week hands down. Great in ring action and finally we are seeing Abyss get his single program for the NWA title. Add in the returning Jim Mitchell and you have a happy Larry!.
