-SmackDown was in Pittsburgh last night and I didn’t go, but I did see my friend Seth sitting in the front row. It’s becoming customary to see him somewhere on the floor in the first few rows when WWE comes to Pittsburgh. I am hoping to make the trip to Cleveland for SummerSlam come August. For now, let’s get to it!

-We start with aerial footage of Lyon-Decines, France at night to hype Backlash, which is two weeks away. They transition to Pittsburgh at night and I know that city. Love that city! Those who have been through the tubes know how spectacular the city is at night!

-Megan Morant welcomes us to the show and she is joined by Scott Stanford.

-Right to the video as AJ Styles battled LA Knight in a WrestleMania rematch and the winner gets Cody Rhodes for the WWE Title at Backlash. Good match and AJ gets the win and he is a perfect choice as AJ’s first challenger. Reminder, AJ was the first man to win the WWE Title outside of North America when he beat the recently released, Jinder Mahal.

-Next week AJ and Cody sign the contract for their WWE Title Match.

-Kayla Braxton is backstage with AJ Styles and he makes sure to note he doesn’t like LA Knight. He respects Cody Rhodes and he is saving what he has to say for next week’s contract signing.

-The Street Profits and Tiffany Stratton still to come!

-To the video as The SmackDown Tag Titles are no more and The WWE Tag Titles look spectacular. That is a gorgeous belt and I love that it pays homage to the classic Tag Titles from the 80s.

-To the video as we had a sweet 4 Team Tag Match that got the crowd rocking by the end. I thought New Catch Republic would be the first challengers for A Town Down, but it’s The Street Profits and that makes sense as well. Should be a good match when it happens!

-Byron Saxton is backstage with The Street Profits and it is noted that it has been three years since they have been Tag Team Champions. That seems long, but then I remember The Usos had a strangle-hold on the Titles. This interview is happening in front of a Penguins, which makes me sad on this the first day of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Again, waste of a great Crosby season. Oh yeah, The Profits laugh off the idea that Theory and Waller aren’t worried about them. The Profits are going to take the Titles and celebrate with drinks that put hair on their chest. They want the smoke! They leave for the party and invite Byron to come with them.

-We see video of Tama Tonga’s debut last week as he helped Solo destroy Jimmy Uso. That leads to tonight where Solo was booed out of the building. Heyman was amazing all night with the way he is selling Solo being unleashed. Tama brings a beaten and bloodied Kevin Owens out from the back. KO staggers back to the ring to get him some and does a solid job, but gets caught with The Samoan Spike before security can separate everyone.

-Tiffany Stratton up next!

-Peacock commercials!

-To the video as Santos Escobar gets a win over Carlito. Lopez takes out Zelina during the match as well. Santos getting a win after Mania is a good thing and we have intrigue with him denying that he or LDF attacked Dragon Lee a few weeks back. It’s probably going to end up being Carlito, but we will see where it goes.

-To the video as our Main Event was Bayley defending her World Title against Naomi. That Bayley to Belly on the announce table was kind of sweet. Tiffany Stratton gets involved to cause a DQ and hits the PME on both women. That smells like a Triple Threat coming soon.

-Byron is backstage with Tiffany as he notes he had to cut the party short, and she questions who would invite him to a party. She has a point! She explains her actions and gets a Tiffany Epiphany as she wants to be the next Women’s WWE Champion. Toodles!

-Next Friday is Night One of the WWE Draft! Night Two is the following Monday on RAW!

-Megan closes things out for the week. Thanks for reading!
