Backstage Notes on AEW Interest in The IInspiration Amid Talent Signings

AEW has been mentioned in recent weeks as a possible destination for The IInspiration, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee, known together as The IInspiration, became free agents after losing the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles to The Elegance Brand on the January 15 episode of TNA iMPACT! on AMC. That loss immediately fueled speculation about their next move, especially given AEW’s active recruitment of new talent heading into 2026.
Meltzer noted that he has heard a lot of talk about them heading to AEW. That said, he also noted that despite a slew of signings, McKay and Lee “don’t feel like a good fit for the brand.” AEW’s recent signings have leaned toward international wrestlers and in-ring focused performers.
McKay and Lee previously gained wide recognition during their time in WWE as The IIconics. Following their WWE release, they transitioned to TNA, where they captured the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and were featured consistently throughout 2024.
