Backstage Note on Toni Storm Situation, One of Two Topics Tony Khan Refusing To Discuss

Tony Khan reportedly will not discuss the status of Toni Storm as well as past reports involving his bid to buy WWE, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Storm’s recent absence from television follows a storyline angle that is expected to keep her off TV until 2027. Meltzer notes that Storm is not out with an injury, and that whatever happened is being kept under wraps and that the situation started at the March 18th AEW Dynamite. The plans that day, all the way up to the afternoon, were for Storm to beat Marina Shafir, which would then set up a Thekla vs. Toni Storm program. Once it became clear that she could not wrestle, they went ahead with an injury angle with the plan being to do a “Who Shot JR?” style mystery story.

Storm was seen at a public autograph signing recently without any visible injury or her selling the injury storyline (via Wrestling News Co).
