Alberto El Patron Reportedly Teasing Notion Of AAA Return

Alberto El Patron is reportedly suggesting that he may be returning to AAA soon. The controversial wrestler exited AAA TV back in July when he lost a match to El Mesias on an episode of AAA Alianzas. He joined the cast of the reality show La Granja VIP, the celebrity version of Mexico’s branch of The Farm, in September.

According to The WON, Patron is no longer on the show. He appeared on La Tijera Lucha Libre and said that he wants to be part of the WWE and AAA partnership.

“Do I want it?,” Patron said. “Of course I do. These are things that, as I’ve said, aren’t talked about out of respect for business agreements—both in wrestling and in other industries—but we’ve always been in contact… It’s about properly putting on the table the cards they want and the cards I want, and then it either happens or it doesn’t. If it doesn’t make me happy, I simply don’t do it. So it’s just a matter of time. But as far as wanting it—of course I do. And they do too. That’s why we’ve always stayed in contact. All that’s left is for us to shake hands and make it happen.”

Patron, it must be said, has often said that there are plans for him to return to WWE. It was reported in May after WWE purchased AAA that Patron was on a list of AAA talent that signed with WWE. However, WWE sources have consistently said that there are no plans to use Patron. Patron had a difficult relationship with WWE while he was there, and his past legal issues have been a barrier.

It is worth noting that according to the WON, Nick Khan’s philosophy regarding talent legal issues is that there needs to be strong proof such as court conviction, and Patron does not have any such convictions. Patron is very over in Mexico as a babyface, but AAA has shown that they don’t need him.

Patron competed over the holidays, working for The King Phantom on December 25th and competing at Producciones Deluxe on December 26th.
