– During a recent interview with The Ten Count’s Steve Fall for Wrestling News.co, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena discussed wanting to take the TBS Title from Kris Statlander. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
“That’s a match that I’ve wanted for a while. Even watching from home before I got signed to AEW/ROH, Statlander is that woman. She’s more than a woman. Someone that was my sister from another mister when I first got here. I love Kris Statlander, and I would love to break her face and steal her TBS Championship.”
At last Saturday’s ROH Death Before Dishonor event, Athena successfully defended her ROH Women’s World Title against 2023 Owen Hart Cup winner Willow Nightingale via technical submission. The event was broadcast live on pay-per-view.
