Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose hasn’t wrestled on AEW TV once this year and has been fairly MIA. Fightful Select Answers Q&A has an update on her status.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, Nyla Rose isn’t injured, and she reportedly hasn’t been brought up creatively either. Sapp also noted that he’s unsure why she’s not being used, which appears to be a common occurrence for wrestlers in AEW who will disappear from TV and not get used for months despite not being injured.

Rose has worked some select indie shows and the Jericho Cruise this year. She also wrestled last weekend at the MPX Who Runs the World? 2 show in Bedford, Texas, where she beat Charity King.

When Will Nyla Rose Return to AEW TV?

AEW President and CEO was asked about a return for the former champion last month following AEW All out 2025. He said at the time:

“Absolutely. Nyla Rose, another great champion. We saw Rhio return just this past month to AEW, Rhio the very first AEW Women’s World Champion, she defeated Nyla Rose and Nyla Rose later captured that championship from her, so we saw the return of one former AEW Women’s World Champion to AEW very recently and I think, as I said before, tonight we saw so many great returns and we’ve set the stage for some big returns so the door is open to a lot of the great stars in the ring and with us very soon.”

Nyla Rose has been with AEW since the company started, signing with the brand in early 2019. She also competed at AEW’s very first event, Double or Nothing 2019, competing in a Fatal 4-Way bout against Dr. Britt Baker, Kylie Rae, and Awesome Kong. Britt Baker won the bout.

She would eventually go on to win the AEW Women’s World Title in February 2020, beating the inaugural champion, Riho. She later lost the title to Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing 2020 in May of that year.
