Backstage Update on Injury Status of Samoa Joe

As previously reported, AEW wrestler and former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe was sidelined with an undisclosed, non-contact injury that he suffered during training. Fightful Select Answers Q&A has an update on Samoa Joe’s injury and layoff status following the injury.
In response to a question regarding how long Samoa Joe is expected to be out, Sean Ross Sapp stated that Joe’s issue is “week to week,” with AEW deciding to maintain caution regarding Joe’s issue. Additionally, while it’s said the issue was a “non-contact injury, the report notes that Joe was in concussion protocol.
Joe’s injury has resulted in Hook taking over as the leader of The Opps in the former world champ’s absence.
