Samoa Joe is out of action for the time being due to an injury, as revealed on this week’s AEW Dynamite. On Wednesday night’s show, Excalibur revealed (per WrestlePurists) that the Opps member is out of action after suffering a non-contact injury during training. Joe is not currently cleared to compete.
There was no further clarification made on the nature Joe’s injury, nor the severity. It is not currently known when he will return to the ring and Joe has yet to comment on the injury.
Joe has been taking aim on trying to get his AEW World Championship back. He lost the title at AEW Worlds End in a four-way match against MJF, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland. MJF picked up the win to claim the title.
The Opps also lost the AEW World Trios Championships earlier this month to Hangman Page and JetSpeed. The departing Powerhouse Hobbs was pinned in that match.
Joe has been looking to pick up wins so he can challenge MJF and defeated Mike Bailey in his most recent match. That bout took place on the January 12th episode of AEW Dynamite.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Samoa Joe for a quick and full recovery.
