Backstage Details on Bayley’s WWE Status Following RAW Return

During last night’s WWE Raw, former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley made her TV return, reigniting her feud with Lyra Valkyria. There have been many questions as of late regarding her WWE status, with rumors indicating that her WWE contract was going to expire later this year.

On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (via F4WOnline.com), Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez spoke about Bayley’s return, with Meltzer reporting that Bayley has signed a new contract with WWE.

Meltzer commented on Bayley, “Yep, signed a new deal.” He added on Lyra Valkyria vs. Sol Ruca vs. Maxxine Dupri, “This match had no heat until very late in the match. When Bayley showed up, they went crazy because it was something big and new and all that.”

According to an earlier report from False Finish, it was rumored that Bayley had signed a new contract ahead of her TV return, with the wrestler reportedly taking greater involvement with the promotion and doing work beyond being just a TV character.

During the Monday Night Raw bout, the former WWE Women’s Champion pulled the referee out of the ring when Valkyria was about to pin Dupri following the Nightwing. Valkyria’s distraction over Bayley’s return allowed Sol Ruca to hit the Sol Snatcher to pick up the win.

After the match, Bayley pursued her former tag team partner, but Valkyria escaped. For now, it looks like the feud will continue, and Bayley will remain under the WWE banner.
