Blake Monroe is understandably crestfallen after losing the Women’s North American Championship to Thea Hail last night on NXT. The Glamour had the wind knocked out of her after Thea hit her signature backwards drop from the second rope and failed to kick out on time, leading to an unplanned title change.

Despite the controversial finish, Hail was visibly elated at winning championship gold for the first time during a backstage interview posted on WWE’s social media handles. Jordynne Grace came up to congratulate her before a heartbroken Blake Monroe entered the scene.

“I’ve been crying for the past 25 minutes; I don’t have any more tears to cry. I, me, Thea Hail, your new Women’s North American Champion. I’ve been here since I was 18; can you believe that? I’ve had friends; I’ve not had friends. I always wanted a championship, and I have done this today. You see, it says Blake Monroe, but it’s gonna say Thea Hail very soon,” Hail said.

Monroe demanded that Hail give her title back, claiming that she never lost and that the referee should be fired. Jordynne cut Blake off and asked her to sulk somewhere else. The former champion declared it as the worst day of her life and demanded a rematch before leaving.

“Give me back my title. I didn’t lose; I kicked out. I don’t know who found that referee; he deserves to be fined. That title is mine. This is the worst day of my life. I want my rematch; enjoy your new muscle muffin,” Blake Monroe said.

Monroe also took to her X account to react to her controversial title loss, noting that it wasn’t the first time that she had been screwed.
