A new report has seemingly revealed when former SmackDown lead writer Brian “Road Dogg” James is expected to start his potential stint with TNA Wrestling.
As reported previously, James has been heavily rumored to join TNA’s creative team following the exit of Tommy Dreamer last week. Earlier this week, PWInsider reported that Brian James is set to attend TNA Slammiversary in Boston, Massachusetts, this Sunday. The report further noted that the former WWE talent was initially pitched for a producer role in TNA, but that changed after Dreamer’s departure.
In this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Dave Meltzer also reported that Brian James is expected to start working with TNA Wrestling from this weekend onward. He added that Hunter Johnston is set to be the head booker, with Vice President of TV Production Eric Tompkins and James expected to be working alongside him.
That said, it must be noted that neither TNA nor James has confirmed that the latter has signed with the company. 411Mania will provide more updates on the evolving situation in due course.
TNA Slammiversary 2026 will be hosted by the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 28. You can check out the lineup for the PPV RIGHT HERE.
