Chelsea Green On Samantha Irvin Ring Announcing Her, Was ‘Heartbroken’ Over Smackdown Move

Chelsea Green loved how Samantha Irvin used to announce her entrance and says she was “heartbroken” when she got moved away from Irvin to Smackdown. Green and Piper Niven were both moved to Smackdown in the WWE Draft, and Green told Rock 95 Barrie that the move was a sad one simply because Irvin was staying on Raw.

“Samantha actually did that on her own and I didn’t hear it the first time,” Green said of Irvin’s specialized way of announcing her name (per Wrestling Inc). “And after about the second or third time I noticed that Twitter was really, really responding to it, so I made sure to listen to it and I mean, I loved it. I just felt like it added a little more something to me, a little something people can latch on to and that’s the kind of the fun thing about wrestling.”

She added, “I was totally heartbroken [by the move to Smackdown], that’s why I changed it. Totally heartbroken, I’m like how am I going to come out and fully be myself if I don’t have Sam introducing me like the star that I am.”
