CJ Perry was a part of World Wrestling Entertainment from 2013 to 2021, prominently featuring in storylines involving Rusev. While The Bulgarian Brute was released from the company in April 2020, Perry was handed her release in June 2021.

The real-life couple briefly reunited in All Elite Wrestling in 2023. Earlier this year, when there were murmurs about Rusev returning to the global juggernaut, fans speculated that Perry may follow suit.

However, that did not happen, as Rusev made his WWE return on the RAW after WrestleMania 41 alone. The Bulgarian Brute has since feuded with Sheamus and is currently on a quest to win the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio.

After failing to do so on two separate occasions, Rusev will get another opportunity to dethrone “Dirty” Dom in a Triple Threat Match, also involving Penta, at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
